This album was recorded in Co. Galway in the middle of December 2005 with eyes firmly fixed on the tour of Australia and New Zealand. The atmosphere in the studio was really positive, the weeks recording was exciting not only for the wonderful music but the band were really looking forward to the tour. Cheating the weather and leaving the winter of the north to go to sunnier climes will never lose it's appeal - and even more so if you can go with friends. Sharon, Mike, Jim and Dezi smiled and laughed their way through this recording in a way that made everything seem so easy and made the tour a very exciting prospect, both for the band and the audience. The idea of an album specifically for the tour is a great idea for the band, especially a new ensemble as this is - it gives time to gel and get a feel for each others playing - although they have all played together in the past a dynamic is needed for the foursome with such a big tour ahead.

Watching these four talented musicians at work (at times it seemed more like play) was fascinating. They made everything seem easy and effortless, their huge talent matched with great their humility makes these musicians real treasures to watch and listen to. Their own joy at what they do makes it even better for us, the listeners, because we are feeling the same joy and are somehow part of the whole thing. As good as the recording sessions are you could see the excitement at sharing these new tunes with an audience. And the sharing is not just limited to the audience; it is a wonderful sight to watch them teaching each other tunes and little pieces of ornamentation; information taken and given in a wonderful way; all at once natural teachers and students. Sometimes if you are between the two cottages you can hear up to three different tunes being practised or perfected and it really has the invigorating effect of a good lungful of fresh air. They practised played and recorded all day and after dinner they listened to the days work; when the happy smiles didn't take long to turn into the laughter of another session with more magical tunes. This is an amazing thing to watch; these musicians have been known to play a full set to a full house and the first thing in the dressing room will be to pick up the instruments and play on, still smiling.

Sharon's warmth seems to extend to her surroundings and the studio where she records is a wonderful place to be and a great place to meet wonderful people; whether it's the musicians or Caitriona or Tom; you are sure to receive great big warm smiles, maybe get a good feed, definitely hear great tunes and have the whole memory punctuated with laughter. The warmth and generosity that is in this place and in these people finds it's way into the music and has done for generations.
